Becoming Steve Jobs

by Brent Schlender and Rick Tetzeli

Steve Jobs has always been one of my idols. For a long time, Steve Jobs held that status in my heart from Apple’s revival and products such as the iPhone and iPad. To me, his role in turning Apple from a lagging computer manufacturer that seemed on the edge of death to a juggernaut that defined multiple new industries was unmatched.

After reading Becoming Steve Jobs, that respect now holds in a different dimension. I can’t think of an more apt description than the wilderness to describe the years between Jobs’ firing and his return to Apple. Becoming Steve Jobs focuses on these years and talks about Steve Jobs’ growth at a personal level.

In fact, it could be said that being in the wilderness was pivotal towards the eventual genius of Jobs. It’s hard to summarize a book so full of life so just go read it.
